Yes, you can substitute it with rapeseed oil, if you like. However, I especially love the taste of coconut oil in this dish.

Xenia, na klar! Bloß nicht abschrecken lassen. Nimm Zimt, Honig und Zitrone! Meine Rezepte sind ja immer nur eine Anregung Lust auf was Neues zu bekommen. Go crazy mit den Anpassungen je nachdem, was dein Vorratsschrank her nimmt!
Ganz liebe Grüße,
Lynn

In reply to Diane Maue Eagen.

Hi Diane, speculaas spice is nothing other than gingerbread spice. I am not sure why Kitchen Stories decided to call it spekulaas spice in the video (I call it gingerbead spice). Basically it is a mix of cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. However, I simply use ground cinnamon. I definitely would not purchase a spekulaas spice mix, but rather make it yourself.
Hope this helps,
xx

I first saw this recipe on Kitchen Stories website. It calls for a spice called speculaas. Did you change the recipe?
I've been looking for the spice but so far haven't found it. I was just getting ready to order it online when I went to your website and saw this different recipe.
I'm curious about speculass since I've never used it before. Is it worth purchasing?

In reply to Anne FS.

Hi Anne,
I am so happy to hear that you liked the granola. I like using cups for things like granola because it's more of a ratio thing and it does not technically matter if you use more flax seeds and less pumpkin seeds. But being European I like my gram measurements because they are much more accurate, especially for baked goods.
Have a wonderful day,
Lynn
