I am not the biggest Easter or brunch person, but what I do love about both is the social gatherings it involves. My family does not really have any Easter traditions after we stopped searching for Easter eggs, but we usually all spend a weekend at my partent’s house with lots of food, laughter and good company. My mom, my sisters and I usually think about one or the other special dish that we will make for our brunch, but I would rather call it a longer breakfast as we don’t really cook much. It’s more a big fruit salad, granola, oats, avocado and bread kind of breakfast, which I absolutely love. So I’ve piled up some Easter brunch recipes that are already on the blog – maybe one of it will make your Easter brunch table.
Healthy Easter Braid
I know this dish may seem very strange to non-Germans, but Easter Braids are a traditional German recipe that we eat over the Easter Holidays. My mom makes the best not healthy version, but since I love adding a bit more nutrients, this one has become my favorite Easter tradition yet. If you’re not German – it’s a sweet and yeasty bread with a fluffy texture. It tastes best with some chia jam or honey drizzled on top.
Healthy Chia Jam
We all know that jam is probably a German’s worst eating habit. We eat soooo much jam. This healthier chia jam with chia seeds and only a bit of natural sweetener is so much more delicious than the original. Trust me.
Healthy Nutella
Yes, I know, we should not use the word “Nutella“, but nobody would google “healthy chocolate nougat spread”, am I right? This healthy version actually contains REAL nuts, no palm oil or dairy and therefore tastes a lot more natural, and in my opinion, much better than the original.
Homemade Almond Butter
It’s no secret that I eat almond butter every day. It’s simply my favorite thing ever. And it’s so easy to make, because you really only need almonds. That’s it. Isn’t it fascinating how such a hard thing as an almond can turn into this super smooth butter? I love spreading it on sourdough bread, to stirr it into my oats or bake with it.
Rhubarb Strawberry Parfait
Who else is excited for rhubarb season? You either love it or hate it – I am definitely on the love side. If you combine rhubarb with strawberries, you’ve found the way to my heart. So this Rhubarb Strawberry Parfait definitely is a love affair.

Fig and Walnut Bread
